Project Scope: Installation of AV & VC System

Palo Alto Networks is a next-generation security company leading a new era in cybersecurity and protects thousands of organizations around the world through their expertise, commitment to innovation and game-changing security platform. They are also the fastest growing security company and this growth has led to their recent move and expansion of their office in Singapore.

ESCO was engaged for the AV works of their new office based on the design and standards of the headquarter in US. This project covers 35 rooms in total, including 2 Training Room, 2 Boardroom, small meeting spaces as well as signages in the common and waiting areas.

The 2 boardrooms incorporated ZOOM into their VC system and has ceiling microphones that capture audio inputs from all over the room. The boardrooms can accommodate approximately 20 pax.

For the training rooms, touch panels were used as the main control for users. The training rooms have been designed and programmed to allow for Combined or Single mode. In combined mode, the partitions between the two training rooms will be removed and combined into one. While sharing the same screen, the master control for the VC function in Combined mode will be from Training Room 1’s VC control. Button panel, serving as redundancy, is also provided for in case of downtime from the touch panel.

The small meeting spaces serve primarily for basic local presentation usage and can accommodate 4-6pax. Out of the 30 meeting spaces, 3 have been equipped with Zoom VC system and Revolabs sound system enabling crystal clear communication for productive collaboration between parties.

All digital displays provided in the training rooms, boardrooms and meeting rooms function as digital signage during inactivity. The displays in the common and waiting areas are used to display adverts showcasing their corporate profile and solutions.

For this project, the team experienced a little bump caused by the incompatibility of the Apple Mac Mini with the rest of the system. The Apple Mac Mini goes to sleep automatically which affect the functionality of the system. To address this, our team replaced the usb-vga cable with the analog audio cable and deactivated the sleep function of the Apple. Several modifications were made to the Crestron Touch Panel as well, subject to user’s preference and requirement from the HQ.


The system is up and running and as of today, the users have been using the system for approximately 3 months. The only limitations, shared by users, were on the limitations of the content of the digital signage by the formatting and file sizes.
